Welcome Zoey

A new member of our family was born on Monday, August 24th. Hyrum and Courtney are the proud parents of Zoey June. (June is the month that Hyrum and Courtney were married in. ) She weighed in at 6 pounds 10 ounces and she was 18 inches long. Courtney's labor was relatively short, only about 4 -4 1/2 hours long. She did such a great job. Courtney was so sweet by inviting several family members in the delivery room to join in the miracle of birth. Those so grateful to be in the room were, Courtney's parents, Charlie and Sherry, two of her sisters, Sarah and Johanna, and myself. The nurse checked Courtney and said, "You are at a ten and ready to push." We quickly called Lindsey, but she missed the birth by about five minutes. Sorry Lindsey. Once Courtney reached a ten, there was no stopping. What a blessing to be able to be a part of this miracle of the birth of Zoey. Thanks Hyrum and Courtney for not only providing us with another grandbaby but for allowing me to witness Zoey's birth . You both did a great job.
This picture was taken SHORTLY before the birth of Zoey.
My first snapshot of Zoey.
I LOVE this picture of Zoey. She doesn't look too happy at this moment, but we sure were.
Courtney after giving birth to Zoey with her nurse and doctor. They were all wonderful.

The nurse wrote this on the whiteboard.
The following morning Aspen got to meet her new cousin. Aspen is so excited to have another cousin...and one that lives close by.

So sweet!
Lacey had to wait way too long before she got to see her new niece. Right after Lacey's cross country race (the day after Zoey was born) I dashed her down to the hospital for a short while before we had to dash back for mutual. Zoey was about twenty hours old at this time.
I love her little hands in her mouth.
So cute.
Hyrum and Courtney came over to our home a few days after Zoey was born. Zoey looks so tiny in her car seat.
The end
