Cabela's best employees...

...The Gray Brothers! Russell along with two of his brothers, Johnny and Bert, started working at Cabela's when it first opened in July of 2005. Russell and Bert work together (part time) in the camping department and Johnny worked in the receiving department for a while and now he works in the fishing department. Russell REALLY enjoys working with his brothers. Russell has had two nephews work there also and currently Bert's wife, Becky, works there. I don't know what Cabela's would do without the Gray's. Russell is always busy helping customer, either on the phone or in person.

Independence Day

We usually have a barbecue with family or friends on July 4th, but life is so busy that this year we spent most of the day getting ready for our upcoming camping trip. In the evening, Russell went and helped with clean-up from the Stadium of Fire until about 4:30 a.m.
I am so grateful to live here in America and to enjoy freedom!

The Birthday Boy

For Tyson's 19th birthday (June 30th) we celebrated it at Scott and Barbara's swimming pool. We enjoyed the evening with family and yummy cake. I made two of Tyson's favorite cakes for the celebration...Tres Leche and "Better then___cake."

Look who's driving!

Lacey took Drivers Ed this summer at Orem High and we finally took the time out of our busy schedules to go get her drivers license. You would think that I would be more relaxed with her being our seventh child to go through the "new driver" stage, but I wasn't. What's up with that?
To think my baby girl is legal to drive!
It was a happy day for both Lacey and I.

Fun in the Sun!

Lindsey and Aspen enjoy spending their time in the summer around swimming pools. They rotate their time between the Scera pool, Lehi pool, and the Elder's pool. Lucky them, to have the time to enjoy the sunny weather.

Youth Conference 2009

I had the opportunity to go to our Ward Youth Conference June 22-24! I don't serve in Young Womens...I'm one of the Assistant Stake Camp Directors though, so I guess that sort of counts. Well, out of the ten women who serve in Young Womens, only one was able (or willing) to go to Youth Conference. So, the bishops wife and myself got to join in on the fun (thanks for asking me Sheila). We camped for two nights in a little town south of Manti called Mayfield (I had never heard of this town before). We played games, ate very well, went boating, had several devotionals, went to the Mormon Miracle Pageant in Manti, and did baptisms for the dead at the Manti Temple. I had a great time and it was so fun to be there with Lacey.
I just think this picture of Lacey hanging out in the tent is just darling of her.
This was part of a devotional that Brother Eggett did. Brother Eggett was giving Lacey instructions and asking her to fall backwards off of the boat. Lacey was SO trusting that you could see the concern on Brother Eggetts face. I was a little nervous too.
Eventually Lacey chose (one at a time) four people to catch her.
Isn't she just gorgeous! I love her happy smile.
Jace, Tanner, Danny, Josh, Kaci, Kimberly, Tamara, and Lacey are ready to hit the lake.
Sister Rowley and myself tubing on Yuba Reservoir. WAY FUN!
Bishop Jeffs was trying so hard to tip off Robert Lau (which he eventually did), so we had a WILD ride.

Beautiful and good girls.

After boating, we stopped at the Gunnison Community Pool to take showers so we would be clean for our temple attendance the next day.

All the females gathered for a picture before leaving for the temple.

(The picture is a little too dark, I know...sorry.)

What a great way to end a Youth Conference by going to the temple.

Summer Sno

Tyson and Lacey are both working at the Summer Sno this year. The two of them have only worked together a few times though. They've got the BEST snowies in town. Ryan and Kathi have driven all the way from Colorado just to have a snowie. (Well, not really, but almost.) Russell calls them "snowmobiles." We always laugh when he says, "Go get me a snowmobile." ( Russell has a nickname for everything and everybody.) This is Tyson's third summer working here and it's Lacey's first year. They have a great boss, Peggy, and they both enjoy their co-workers too.

Courtney was in town!

In mid June, Courtney came into town for a few days (her and Hyrum are in Wisconsin for the summer). Some of us girlies gathered at Barbara's one afternoon for a dip in the swimming pool. We had fun getting wet, relaxing, and visiting.

I had a BLAST!

I had a BLAST at our Stake 4th-Year Adventure Hike. Sara (Assistant Stake Camp Director) planned the camp out and she did a fantastic job. We went to Capital Reef National Park for two nights and three days. We hiked several different hikes, but the main hike was the Sulpher Creek Trail (5 miles). Most of the hike was walking in the creek. There were three different natural water slides along the trail. We slid down two of them. It was SO MUCH FUN! This was definitely my type of fun. Thanks Sara for planning such a great and successful outing. I am already looking forward to next years 4th-Year hike.

Lacey just got her Cafe Rio style dinner ready to eat. YUMMY!

Our beautiful camp spot at the group campsite at Capital Reef.
Of course I had to take time and do a photo shoot of Lacey.
This hike reminded me of my dad. It was a hike to go see the Mormon Pioneer Register. Some of the pioneers carved their names into a huge rock wall. I'm sure that when I was young my dad took me here.
"Ranger Adam Fan Club"
We went to the nighttime presentation put on by the Rangers. We knew ahead of time the Ranger Adam (21 years-old) would be doing the presentation this particular evening. Some of our Young Women made sure they were there early so they could sit on the front row. Ranger Adam was nervous knowing that these Young Women were closely watching him. Afterwards, we of course had to get a picture of him and some of the Young Women. They are all showing off their badges that they were given. A great memory was made.

Cool rock formations!

Pretending

Aspen was having fun pretending to be going somewhere and she enlisted her mom to pretend to. As you can see Aspen was in the front seat and Lindsey was in the back seat. Hopefully Aspen is a good driver!

Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House

Debbie (my sister) was in town bringing Summer (her daughter) and Karlie (Summer's friend) to EFY and so we decided to go to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house on Saturday, June 6. A very beautiful temple of course. I am VERY grateful for my temple blessings.
